Jumpstart Evanston finished its 2026 cohort in March, with three participants receiving funding from the panel of judges during the final pitch event. Among them was Heroes Realm, a store that supports the local gaming community in Southwest Wyoming and Northeast Utah. The storefront, located at 1033 Main St, sells a variety of products, including trading card games, board games, tabletop miniature games, and supplies.
“Jumpstart is a great way to learn about resources and connect to other businesses to create a support system,” says Brandon Wilson, new owner of Heroes Realm. “This is my second year, and the connections I’ve made have allowed me to branch out into the community as a business and have resources I can tap into.”
Jumpstart started in mid-January and included seven weekly classes for entrepreneurs to learn new skills and develop business plans. It culminates in a series of presentations to a panel of judges, with cash prizes awarded to the best concepts. This program is free to entrepreneurs.
Wilson received $1,000 to purchase a ROCA Sifter card-sorting machine. Beyond this purchase, Wilson will be able to apply what he learned at Jumpstart throughout the year. He can continue to be an asset to his customers and provide gaming support to hobbyists across the region.
“Heroes Realm's goal for the future is to continue to support the gaming community by increasing events and expanding current products,” says Wilson.
Congratulations to Brandon Wilson and Heroes Realm for successfully winning Jumpstart 2026! We can’t wait to see how you grow this year and beyond.
