The goal of the Recreation Division is to provide a wide variety of quality recreational opportunities or all ages to encourage active and healthy lifestyles.
Whether you are interested in the Evanston Recreation Center, that provides weight room coaching, childcare, and inflatable obstacle courses, or organized outdoor family days, there is something for everyone to enjoy! Evanston hosts many family days at the local parks and golf courses, with themes around the seasons.
Evanston and Uinta County showcase a variety of excellent lakes, rivers and streams abound, including the Bear River. Bear River State Park offers public access to this backyard gem and exceptional fly fishing. The enticing parks and campgrounds are nestled near lakes and rivers, providing all-day fishing opportunities.
For hunting enthusiasts, look no further than Evanston. The area offers bountiful hunting opportunities for wildlife that is special to Wyoming. Hunters will leave satisfied, after a hunting expedition including elk, mule deer, and moose.
The many hiking trails in the area provide a relaxing escape on a trail leading to a new adventure. Trails along the rivers, mountain foothills, and through parks provide ample wildlife observing. Take your camera and a friend along, for the spontaneous pictures with beautiful, scenic backdrops.

City and County Parks
Brown Park
With an acre of lush green grass, Brown Park is located on the corner of 1st Avenue and B Avenue, and has picnic tables, barbeque pits, and a playground.
Anderson Park
Anderson Park consists of 1.9 acres of sprawling, developed land, and is located on the corner of Summit and 14th Street.
Aspen Grove Park
Aspen Grove Park is 3 acres, located at the intersection of Washakie Drive and Johnston Lane, with picnic tables and basketball courts.
Bear River Greenway

The Bear River Greenway supplies residents with fishing and water activities, including rafting and kayaking.
Brookhollow Park
Located along Shady Lane in the Brookhollow subdivision, Brookhollow Park is 4.9 acres and has picnic tables and a playground.
Centennial Park
Centennial Park is located at the north end of Colonial Drive, and offers 3.2 acres of developed land with picnic tables, basketball courts, and barbeque pits. Centennial Park offers a special flying field for Remote Control planes and helicopters behind the park.
Mountain View City Park
The Mountain View town park receives great reviews from those who visit. The town strives to maintain the parks beauty and make improvements each year. At our park, you can enjoy sun or shade. There are several pavilions with picnic tables, briquette BBQ grills, 2 great playgrounds, horseshoe pits, baseball fields, soccer fields, volleyball pit, walking path and a small pond. Although a reservation isn’t required, it makes it easier to ensure the space that you may need for a Birthday Party, Family Reunion, Class reunion, Graduation Party, or just a nice picnic, etc…

Chinese Gardens
Located around Depot Square, the historic Chinese Gardens offer a quaint gazebo, benches, and a pond and stream.
Depot Square
Located in the Historic Downtown Evanston, the Chinese Gardens hosts summer activities, such as the Farmer’s Market and live concerts.
Hamblin Park
Hamblin Park reaches Bear River Drive, just past the fairgrounds, and across from the Bear Paw Trail Head. With 7.6 acres of developed land in the park, Hamblin Park is a well-loved and visited park. The frisbee (disc) golf course runs throughout the park. Residents may reserve one of three areas for outdoor gatherings. Whether you’re looking for additional picnic areas with or without electrical access, basketball courts, horseshoe pits, or a splash pad the multitude of areas can meet your needs. The playground is centrally located between the areas, for all to enjoy.
Martin Park
Located between Depot Square and the fire department, Martin Park offers picnic areas and a basketball court. Martin Park boasts a charming gazebo, which can be rented, that adds to the background of any picture.
Overthrust Ball Park
Overthrust Ball Park spreads across 11 acres and offers four softball/baseball fields.
Skate Park
The inviting Skate Park is located at 6th Street and Morris Lee and sits next to the sand volleyball court.
Sulphur Creek Reservoir
Just 12 miles south of Evanston, Sulphur Creek Reservoir offers 2.5 acres of spacious, developed land. A shelter with restrooms, electrical outlets, picnic tables and a fire pit make it an inviting setting for summer gatherings. A dock near the shelter will bring in fishing enthusiasts for a lazy afternoon.
