Purchasing a License

Who is Required to Purchase a License? 

• All companies or professions having offices or locations within the City limits
• All companies or professions having offices or locations outside the City limits, but conducting business within the City
• General contractors and sub-contractors
  • Electrical contractors are required to hold a State Electrical Contractor’s license
• Child care providers
  • Also required to hold a State Child Care license and a Home Occupation Child Care Permit
• Day care providers
• Preschool operators
• Taxicab companies
  • Also required to hold a current certificate of insurance including at least $500,000 in liability coverage
• Sales representatives, City vendors, and service representatives
  • Door-to-door residential solicitations are strictly prohibited, unless the salesperson is invited by the resident through prior appointment
